It’s a new year – the perfect time to carve a path to a healthier you with this guide to getting fit in 2021! The good news is that small tweaks to your daily life can lead to big results in how you feel, look and live! Whether you decide to add 10 more minutes of exercise to your existing workout routine, or are just beginning on the path to a healthier you, I am here to tell you that you can do it, and you are worth it!

Below is my guide to getting fit in 2021. It includes some of the products I have incorporated into my life to help boost metabolism, burn fat, promote healthy muscles, and more. All bring me joy and hopefully they bring you joy – and results! – in 2021.

Walking Equipment. Walking is one of my favorite exercises – I love to get outdoors and walk whenever I can – here is what I take with me when I walk!

  • Skechers Walking Shoes. I find the fit of Skecher’s to be just right for me – they are supportive yet cushiony, so there’s less stress on my body as I walk. I have been wearing Skecher’s for years, because they are so comfy and supportive – important when you walk for fitness.
  • Water Bottle. I also take a bottle of water with me to help stay hydrated. A reusable bottle is more cost effective in the long run, and so much better for the environment. I take this bottle with me most everywhere I go – it makes sipping simple and fun!
  • Sunscreen. I look for sunscreen with at least 30 SPF to help to protect against harmful UV rays, which can lead to wrinkles, sun damage and even skin cancer. I really like the Sun Bum brand because in addition to sun protection, it is not harmful to the ocean, so if I am walking on the beach and dip my toes in, I know I’m not hurting sea life.
  • Sunglasses. A good pair helps shield your eyes from the sun, which can help to prevent damage to your vision. Also helpful when I get up and go for a morning walk – they hide dark circles!
  • Hat. Another way to protect your face and eyes from the sun. As a Dodger’s fan, I wear a Dodger’s hat when I walk! But you can pick your favorite team!!

Garlic press. Since most of the health benefits happen when you chop, slice or crush garlic and expose it to the air, I keep a garlic press handy and do this as one of the first steps when cooking. Ayesha Curry Sauce Pot. Full disclaimer: Ayesha Curry is a family friend, but even if I didn’t know her, I would recommend her cookware! I love to cook, and her pots and pans have made cooking at home this past year so much more enjoyable. Everything is easy to use and clean, so well made, and inspires me to try new recipes!
