One thing I get asked a lot – in real life and in my DeniseAustin.com Community – is how to care for our hair when we are working out more frequently. This is a GREAT question, because when we are trying to achieve our healthy goals, we are exercising more often… and this can lead to lots more hair washing and styling. This in turn can lead to hair getting dull or overstressed – something none of us want to happen, especially as we get older! During the summer I try and take extra care of my hair because of all of the time I spend in the sun, the pool, and at the beach, where the salt water can really dry it out. But year round I try to take care of my hair, and one of the biggest things I do is to NOT wash my hair every day. I find that it strips my hair of natural oils that I need to keep it shiny and sexy. But some people may need to wash daily, and that’s fine too – just be sure to use a gentle, moisturizing cleanser so you aren’t stripping away the oils.
