Have you ever been excited to start a diet? You get your entire week of meals planed out, read all you can on a particular way of eating, and are set and ready to go. You follow the diet for three or four days, maybe even a week… and then life gets in the way. Has this ever happened to you? So many people ask how I continually eat healthy, and that’s just it – I have made healthy eating continual…a lifestyle! For years and years I have made putting nutritious and delicious food into my body a priority. It is not something I do for weeks or months at a time. The way you eat should not be a fad or inconvenient!! Now don’t get me wrong, having a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean I never indulge with a yummy dessert or eat a hamburger! The 80/20 rule is what I aim for. Eat good, nutritious meals most days; but when you want something that might not be the healthiest choice – EAT IT, just don’t make it a habit. And the more you eat nutritious whole foods like fruits and veggies, the more your body will crave them!
Instead of listing off all of the things that are not beneficial when dieting, let’s talk about some of the things that are! Here are some “do’s” when it comes to healthy eating:
Healthy eating CAN be both delicious and nutritious!! My newest magazine – Fit Over 50: Jump Start Your Fall – has even more healthy eating tips for you. Along with delicious fall recipes, like a yummy Huevos Rancheros Skillet, Apple-Date-Almond Muffins and Turkey-Kale Meatballs with Spaghetti Squash. You will also get a 7-day meal plan, age-reversing workouts, and so much more. I hope these few healthy eating “do’s” help you to better your health just a little bit and that you love reading my magazine as much as I love making it for you!! Xoxo
