Sunscreen is a MUST to help prevent skin cancer and sun damage to your skin. According to the American Cancer Society, use these tips when choosing sunscreen:
- Look for “broad spectrum” protection, as these products will protect against both UVA and UVB rays.
- Make sure your sunscreen has an SPF of 30 or higher.
- For proper protection, reapply your sunscreen at least every two hours – and more often if you are swimming or sweating. Toweling off can remove sunscreen, so be sure to reapply after you have been swimming, toweled off, or have been sweating a lot!
And remember: when applying sunscreen to your body, you should use the amount of sunscreen that would fill a shot glass for proper coverage! It may seem like a lot, but this is one area you don’t want to skimp on!
